Virgin London Marathon 2010

The London Marathon is always a massive event, and this year Johnny Henry took it upon himself to run on behalf of The Autism Trust. He says, ‘I chose The Autism Trust as both my niece and nephew have forms of autism (my nephew has Asperger’s Syndrome).’

He also talked us through his training. He ran twice a day, which at times he confessed was a bit of a struggle! But built up to the final 26 miles by running longer distances nearer the time. He also told us that turning 30 this January was another big incentive in running the marathon, so well done Johnny!

The day itself went well, and despite slipping on a bottle at one stage, hurting his knee in the process and having to walk the final six miles, Johnny completed the Virgin London Marathon 2010 on behalf of The Autism Trust, raising over £500 – and we are very grateful to him for such a wonderful effort.
